During the 3 years of apprenticeship the apprentices will assist in warehousing and shipping, learning how to store, retrieve and dispatch goods. Within the scope of his daily tasks a warehouse logistician will issue various documents and form sheets (e.g. warehouse and shipping documents) and he will manage and supervise the inventory. Warehouse logisticians are trained to be specialists of warehousing and logistics, therefore they will receive comprehensive commercial training in various operating departments such as Purchasing and Bookkeeping/Accounting, etc.

Principal Activities and Duties

  • Acceptance and inspection of goods
  • Storage, transfer and retrieval of goods
  • Operation and maintenance of technical equipment
  • Determining the required storage conditions from the properties of the goods to be stored
  • Management and supervision of inventory and introduction of measures as required
  • Making goods ready and dispatching them
  • Cooperating in the development of operational concepts of warehouse logistics
  • Issuing and processing of the relevant specialist form sheets, blanks and documents
  • Performing administrative work using the in-house information and communication systems
